What a Grand Weekend It Was

Closed early at work Friday.

Visited the wine store and bought some delicious cheese crackers, oh and yeah, some wine!

Went to Andolini's for beer and pizza.  Date Lunch.

Shopped at Target and bought a bunch of junk.  I love that kind of Target shopping.  Pillow cases, kitty litter, baby tutu, pj's, makeup remover, IPhone Cover.

Friday Afternoon Nap.  Or, as I like to call it, "FAN."

Watched Dermot Mulroney in, "Wedding Date" while sitting on the couch with Tracy and drinking one of my favorite wines.  Oh, he is H O T in that movie.  And, then Michael Buble sings "Home?"  Heaven I tell you.  Heaven!

Sonic Breakfast Toaster Sandwich.  YUM.

Saturday afternoon nap.  Or, as I will now call it, FAN, part 2.

Brother, SIL and Nephews arrive in town for a week, staying out at Folly Beach.

Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch and catching up.

Dinner at Taco Boy with yummy margaritas.

Waking up at the beach.

Watching dogs frolic on the beach.

Hearing the happy sounds of kids laughing and screaming in the water.

The smell of sunscreen.

Dolphins in the water.

My Beach Canopy.

People building this?

And then another?

And finally?  The Sunday Afternoon Nap.  (aka FAN #3)

Oh Tuesday!

My day started with the discovery that I FedExed a package to myself.  So, basically, a bunch of checks and some paperwork took a trip to Memphis (Hi Angie) and back, instead of going to our Columbia office.  I is stoopid.  I've been sending this FedEx for over 15 years, so it's not like this is a new thing for me....

My shoes were too tight.  ALL. DAY.  LONG.

When it got to be 1:30, I was convinced I would fall asleep right there at my desk.  That meant the next four  hours were really really long.

I've done something to my back so that the only way I'm comfortable is if I stand with an arched back, sticking out my chest.  I look like a goofball.

I'm jealous that my brother and his family are at my all time favorite place in the whole world right now.  They check into Eagle's Nest Hideaway tonight.  I was having a big pity party for myself today and was very guilty of the sin of envy.

So, as you can see, I was just having a crap kind of day.  And then as I pulled in my driveway, I saw this:

And, I laughed out loud.  This is our neighbor's cat.  He cracks me up every time I see him. He's the cul-de-sac cat.  He walks with his mom (we call her Virgin Mary) when she walks the dogs.  And, apparently, he's found a new nesting spot; on top of Steven's Jeep.

Thanks Cul-De-Sac Cat for taking away my Tuesday blues.

Reunited

Before Mike and Tracy moved to Oklahoma,  it was very common for us to hang out with them and Mary and Larry.  This was back when there was no such thing as a Griffin, or an Anslee.

Aiden was four, and Taylor wasn't driving yet.
Steven and I were still single.  (tee hee)

Back in that day, we used to get together on weekends, and often times, we would go boating.  Mike and Tracy are kind enough to invite us along, and we'd always have the most pleasant of days.

Well, the whole gang was back together again yesterday.  It's been four long years, but we found ourselves out on the Ashley River on a very HOT July afternoon.  (granted, we didn't have the two new additions with us, but that was probably wise, considering the heat index!)

We're all a little bit older now.  Two of us (thank God I'm not one of them) had babies.  Two of us got married.  The kids are older and taller.  We've all had many good and many bad things happen since we've been apart.

And yet, we fell right back into it.  As soon as we were together, the giggling began, and it was just like old times.  I guess that now begins the "new" old times.

I love when we can all be together.  I love that my child has relationships with these friends of mine, and that I have relationships with their kids.

Reunited, and it feels sooooooooo good.

My New Favorite Show. NOT.

It seems that almost every time I turn on the TV lately, this show is on some channel:

I, of course, am speaking about, "Perkier Boobs," not Jerseylicious or Sex and the City.
I don't know if it's the name, or the exclamation point that bugs me more. And, how do they make a thirty minute program on this anyway?
(by the way, my TV is dirty, but it's not dust, that's where Rockett licks whenever she sees an animal on the TV)

Sorry, I just don't buy it.  My money's on gravity over Perkier Boobs any day.

Fine Dining?

I consider myself to be a lover of food.  At times, you might say I'm a bit of a connoisseur  when it comes to feeding my belly.  I love a good steak, rare tuna, cheeses, wines and anything else you can even think of.  My dad and mom spoiled me on yummy food and nice restaurants when I was younger.

Yet, nothing is as consistent and lovely as the Totino's Party Pizza.  Yes, I love this glob of fake meat.  Triple Fake Meat.

I think you can pick these things up 3 for $5.

It claims to have pepperoni seasoning, sausage and "Canadian Style Bacon" on there.  It also says there is cheese and a tomato sauce.  Hm.  I'm not so sure.

What I am sure of is that it always tastes great.  It cooks in fourteen minutes.  It has tasted the same since I was a teenager.  It's cheaper than Red Baron, DiGiorno, Dominos, Papa Johns, or Pizza Hut.   They don't take up much room in my freezer.  Me and Totino's are old friends.

Don't get me wrong now.  I do love a fine gourmet pizza.  I'll eat the fancy ingredients on the special crust and enjoy it tremendously.  I'll sprinkle Parmesan cheese and hot pepper flakes on that fancy pizza to add even more flavor.

But, to be honest, I prefer my little cardboard pizza just the way it is, in its own simplicity.  I must love it.  I just realized I have five of them in my freezer.  Oops, make that four.  One is now in my tummy.

Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

I just got back from vacation in Palm Island, Florida.  We spent a week there.  It was HOT.  And, I do mean HOT.  It was so hot, that the swimming pool water felt like bath water.

The boy to girl ratio was 2:5. But, there was this one really cute boy there, he had an English accent.  I thought he was so c-o-o-l when he went kayaking.  He went with my friend, but I do think he likes me.

Diary, I ate like an absolute pig.  I had more bacon than a human should be allowed.  I ate steak bites, potatoes, stuffed chicken, fried egg sandwiches, Angry Pasta!, KeBobs, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Breakfast Casserole, chips, dip, cookies, just to name a few.  I hope I'll still fit in my back to school clothes.

The bugs were seriously the worst bugs ever Diary.  They ate us up like I ate all that food.  They would land on our faces and didn't care if we went under water.  They have serious bugs in Florida.  They might want to think about screening in that whole part of the state.

Diary, I went golf cart joy riding with the gals.  We giggled and looked for boys.  That Taylor sure can dodge the authorities when the time is needed.  We looked for parties and ended up racing some other cool kids. I think the younger girls were kind of embarrassed of me and Tracy. Probably because we're so cool.

Diary, I just fell in LUV with all the cute animals.  We had Manatees swim around the dock.  There was an eagle who ate his dinner at the dock, and he would leave the fish guts behind.  GROSS.  There were pink flamingos.  I was surprised, because I didn't know they could fly.  DUH.  Tracy tried to catch crabs, but only caught starfish, conch and a few minnows.  Oh well, at least she tried!

Diary, don't tell my family, because I'd be all embarrassed and junk, but the best part was just being together.  It was fun to splash in the pool, have family dinners and complain about the bugs. I wish I could have all my friends come along, we'd have sooooo  much fun!  I hated the heat, but that's because it makes me sweat and look ugly.  I bet I get some zits too.

(Next year Diary, I'm going someplace COLD!)

Wish You Were Here

No really.

I'd love to show you all the cool stuff we've seen so far; like this ferry we had to take to the island.  It had a little sign on it that said, "Little House on the Ferry."  Awwww.

I'd like to show you the view of the house from the dock.

Let's go into the pool and look up into the sky.  This is what we see.

I think these two shells look like boobs.
Heh Heh.

 Young Women's Swimsuits.

I'd show you the Gopher Tortoise Crossing sign and the cool way it's decorated.

While we're at it, let's check out the Gopher Tortoise.

We finally made it to the beach today.

I prefer this view at the pool.

Yep, I wish you were here with us.  Come on in, the water's great!!

Going On a Little Vacation

Yep, it's time for REAL vacation.
No makeup. No bras.  Chill by the pool, eat all day vacation.

I'll be thinking about you!  But, not a whole lot else.

I'll probably send you a postcard or sumpin.  But, in case I don't, have a great week!  Wish you were here!  (once I get there!)
