Saturday Stuff

Happy Saturday from wet, but safe, South Carolina!

The circus is in town.  I don't go to the circus, but do have a curiosity about the life since reading, "Water for Elephants."  On my way home from work the other day, I saw this train parked on the tracks.

I presume they were parked there for the duration of the circus. Some cars had flowers just outside their doors, most had satellite dishes attached, and each car had a trash bag tied to the front.  I had never thought about where all the workers/performers stay, and found this quite interesting.  The train was very long and parked in two different sections.

It made me wonder what they do when they park.   Do they want to go "into town?"  How would they do that?  This train was parked in a remote part of town, so walking anywhere was out of the question.  I think I'm going to have to read up on this.

Strange week at work.  I had to be mean all week.  I don't like that.  The week ended with one of the attorneys saying to me that he was going home to take a nap.  Excuse me?  This is not acceptable behavior.  Now I'll have to be mean again next week.

One of my co-workers is going through a divorce, and I don't think it's amicable.  Well, I know it's not.  She showed me the taser that she carries in her purse.  I had to giggle at her, and she knows this, as I told her I was going to post about it.  Her taser is PINK and comes in its own carrying case.  I asked where does one buy a taser.  Where else?  The flea market.  Stay safe LKF!

Our friend, Mike, is getting home from his four month deployment this weekend.  He has been in the Middle East since October, missing birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, not to mention each day with his young kids and wife.  Thanks Mike and welcome home!

I'm seriously addicted to Downton Abbey.  We are in the middle of Season Two, and I don't want to watch, because I don't want it to end.

I'm not ready for Spring, as Spring is followed by Summer, and I don't like to be hot.  But, at least with Spring, we get pretty things like this:

And finally, so sad to hear about Davy Jones.  He was always my favorite Monkee.  I think it means we're officially old when our teen idols start kicking the bucket.  Sigh.

We are going to the Flea Market tomorrow...shall I see where they sell the tazers for you? Thought we might stop for lunch at a pizza place on College Park Road called Vinny's. My southern boss tells me they have the best New York pizza.

It's pouring out down here (a whole 15 miles or so away from you) glad I am home from work where it is dry and no one yells.

I am also addicted to Downton Abbey but, I think the season is over. 6 shows? That's all we get?

Have a wonderful weekend JuJu!

In college, the circus train would park right outside the Carolina Coliseum, where I had all of my journalism classes. I saw how some of the cars were decorated like we would decorate our front doors. Fascinating!

I have seen the circus train when they are here too. I never really thought much about it until I also read "Water for Elephants."

I can't imagine you being mean at work though.

I absolutely adore Spring. I don't mind summer and autumn is so-so. What I hate is winter.

God bless the woman with the pink tazer. I could have used one on my first husband for sure.

I like the IDEA of the circus (that nostalgic thing), but I don't ever go either (too much of an animal lover to go). And I can't believe you would EVER be mean--firm, perhaps, but never mean! Lovely flowers...
