30 Years

In the last 30 years I have:

graduated high school
attended college
graduated college
married husband #1
bought a house
had a baby
moved across the country
divorced
moved again
married again
had another baby
worked many jobs
attended many funerals
divorced again
met THE one
bought more houses
traveled to numerous wonderful places
made wonderful friends
went to loads of parties
watched all the Super Bowls, the halftime shows and the commercials
experienced the internet, cell phones, 9/11, Obama's election, and American Idol

For the last 30 years, Cornelius Dupree has been in the Texas prison system; convicted of a crime he didn't commit.  Today, he was exonerated and declared an innocent man.  He was 19 when he entered jail, only a few years older than me in 1979.  (VERY interesting read here---)

How do you give back to this man all those years he lost?

Hope, Plan, Do

 

In 2011, I hope to spend more time in beautiful places.

I plan to spend more time finding peace in all walks of life.

I'd really like to find fun new recipes and do some different types of cooking.

I hope I find some outdoor activities that don't make me sweat.

I will find more places that friends can go to and wear pajamas together.

I am not going to get caught up in what people think about me; no matter how strange it seems.

I will surround myself with people who make me giggle.

I will appreciate all that I have.

Instead of wishing for things that I don't have.

And, I plan to not get grossed out by the non makeup pictures.  :-)

Happy 2011

I thought I'd take a break from my really cool cocktail party and my cool friends (especially the dude with the turtleneck)  to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  I hope we all have a wonderful 2011.  Let's hope it is filled with blogs, cream cheese and all sorts of laughter!

Polka Dot Hat

Yeah, sometimes the simplest things are the best.

Like a new baby and a new hat.

Meet Anslee and the polka dot hats.

 This weekend was the first time some of us met Anslee.  Her mom and dad and big bro currently live in Oklahoma.  But, they're home for the holidays.  So, we all got acquainted.

Here's Larry rocking the polka dot turban.

 It took us a few shots to get Taylor and Anslee together.  Taylor's not a big fan of baby spit-up.

 Mary was enjoying holding a little girl baby.  Her boy baby is getting so BIG!

 Oh, poor Anslee.  The big scary man is holding her.

 Daddy's girl?  I think so. 

 I'm thinking Anslee is tired of this game, and is REAL glad to get back to her mama.

 Well, you knew I had to get MY baby into the mix, right?
