Friday Night Random

I saw the best license plate on my way to Columbia this week:  RMBR911

I have two new favorite TV shows:  Who Do You Think You Are and An Idiot Abroad.

I'm sad that Carla is off Top Chef.

I'm really sad about the earthquake and tsunami.

We had a great week with friends in town.  But, I'm pooped now.

Speaking of poop, Bailey is still gifting us in the bathtub.

Are you watching American Idol?  We are.  I like the guys better than the girls.

I'm really dreading losing this hour of sleep tomorrow.  That will screw me up until October.

I need a vacation.

BIG time.

That aint happening any time soon.

Rats.

But hey, I'm healthy and alive and grateful for all that.

TGIF Friends.  Have a great weekend!

There's a First Time for Everything

Ladies and Germs, please mark it on your calendar.

Tonight, on the 8th of March, 2011, I knew the correct lyrics to a song.  And, Steven even just said the following words:  "You were right, I was wrong."*

Normally, I'm way off.  I can't hear what anyone is saying.  I can't understand any words being sung.

When I was younger, I could do it.  I know tons of songs from the 70s and early 80s.  But, something happened to my brain when I turned 18.  The lyric-understanding part of my brain just died.  And, it wasn't a slow journey, it was an all of a sudden type of thing.

I know we all have done this, and many of these examples aren't mine.  But, surprise, surprise, I can't even remember mine. ( But, they are usually songs Taylor knows, and I don't know.)

Just a few mix ups I know of over the years:

"I'll never be your pizza burning..."  (Beast of Burden)
"Four Letter Woman..."  (More than a Woman)
"Naked Woman...  (American Woman)

I'm sure you have some of your own gems?  Please share!!

*oh, and the song tonight?  Thriller, by Michael Jackson.  At the end, when Vincent Price is talking, he uses the line, "Y'alls Neighborhood."  Steven did not believe me that those were the words.  I am proud to say that I looked it up on line, and my version is correct.  Hallelujah!!
Of course, he is playing the English card on this one, citing that "Y'all" isn't a word in England.

Whatever.  I was right!!

Can't touch this.  (MC Hammer)

Little Girls, Squirrels and Lunch

Yesterday, we decided to lunch at Mellow Mushroom.  MM is one of my favorite places to eat.  Good food, good beer, good vibes.  Since it was a nice day, we asked to sit outside.

The very nice hostess sat us at a table that was placed next to a window.  (No one else was outside, yet, this is where she seated us.  Hm.)  Just inside the window were other patrons sitting in a booth.  I always feel so awkward in this situation, it's like we're sitting together.  And, you have to pretend not to notice the people sitting there.  I also feel like they can see every bite I take, and are watching as all that food is slathered over my face.

And yet, I still couldn't help myself.  I had to look.  And, this is what I saw when I looked:

She became our friend for the next thirty minutes.  She showed us her chewed food.  (SEAFOOD!)  She tapped the window.  She tapped the window again.  I smiled.  I waved.  I had to remind Steven not to make mean faces, as she probably had a very large daddy who wouldn't appreciate that.

We also had a squirrel staring us down as we ate.  (I guess we were the entertainment yesterday?)  Steven can't NOT feed an animal, so this little fella enjoyed some of his calzone.  He was quite brave actually.  He'd jump down, grab the food, rearrange it in his mouth, then retreat to his tree to enjoy.

Come spend time with us, it's always an adventure!
Or something like that.

Saturday Night Gorgeousness

Yes. I am on a major extreme Adele kick. This woman moves my soul.  Her voice, her words, her beauty.  I hope you enjoy.

This one.  WOW.

Finger Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap

Thoughts running through my mind while our computers are down at work.....

Wow, I can't get anything done without my computer at work.

I'm really glad I'm getting my hair "done" today.  My mom and my grandmother used to get their hair "done" every Thursday.

I gave up on Ancestry.Com.  Already.

It's okay to change your mind.

I hate peeing in a cup.  I'm no good at it.

Next week is Ash Wednesday, and my calendar says Daylight Savings Time starts March 13th.  Spring is just around the corner.

I cannot find a pen I like well enough to use on a daily basis.  It must be ballpoint and medium.  Any suggestions?

I'm kinda weird about my pens.

When I re-read that last line, the last word of that line looked like something else.

Sometimes the good guy finishes first.  But not very often.

If I never hear about Charlie Sheen again, that will be too soon.

Bailey has been house-poop-free for a week now.  I hope I didn't just jinx it.

My favorite frozen pizza is the Totinos Triple Meat Pizza with the little fake meats cut into little teeny tiny squares.  They are something crazy like 3 for $5.  BONUS!

I feel wrong if I don't have a picture on a blog post.

STILL haven't found the perfect pillow.

I used to play softball.  I wasn't good.

Happy Tuesday Blogland.  I hope your day is more productive than mine!
