Voting

I stood in line for an hour to vote.

It was cold and rainy.

I was the only idiot wearing short sleeves and no jacket.

I think that might disqualify me from having the intelligence to vote.

There were a lot of funky looking people in line.

And when I say funky, I don't mean attractive...

I always manage to be behind the lady who wants to be my friend, and in front of the lady who likes to talk.  LOUD.

The poll workers have been working the polls since Roosevelt was in office.  Teddy Roosevelt.

But, they were smart enough to have a good spread of food out for themselves.  I counted four crock pots.

Why do we vote on Tuesdays? Wouldn't Saturday be easier?  I'm sure there's a good reason why, I just don't know it.

Let me add my name to the list of people who are tired of campaign ads and wish for on line voting.

I always see someone I don't want  to see when I'm standing in a line I can't escape.  And as the line snakes around and around, I see them repeatedly.  Awkward.

Can you believe how much we all covet that "I voted" sticker?  I watched grown men double back for the stickers.

It's an amazing process, and one of which I'm proud to partake.

Now, fingers crossed that my dude wins.

Wow, all of you who had to wait so long to vote...here in Cali, no fuss no muss (at least at 7:15, which was right after the polls opened.) I'm so proud of all of you who DID wait and DID vote. Yay!
