Little Girls, Squirrels and Lunch

Yesterday, we decided to lunch at Mellow Mushroom.  MM is one of my favorite places to eat.  Good food, good beer, good vibes.  Since it was a nice day, we asked to sit outside.

The very nice hostess sat us at a table that was placed next to a window.  (No one else was outside, yet, this is where she seated us.  Hm.)  Just inside the window were other patrons sitting in a booth.  I always feel so awkward in this situation, it's like we're sitting together.  And, you have to pretend not to notice the people sitting there.  I also feel like they can see every bite I take, and are watching as all that food is slathered over my face.

And yet, I still couldn't help myself.  I had to look.  And, this is what I saw when I looked:

She became our friend for the next thirty minutes.  She showed us her chewed food.  (SEAFOOD!)  She tapped the window.  She tapped the window again.  I smiled.  I waved.  I had to remind Steven not to make mean faces, as she probably had a very large daddy who wouldn't appreciate that.

We also had a squirrel staring us down as we ate.  (I guess we were the entertainment yesterday?)  Steven can't NOT feed an animal, so this little fella enjoyed some of his calzone.  He was quite brave actually.  He'd jump down, grab the food, rearrange it in his mouth, then retreat to his tree to enjoy.

Come spend time with us, it's always an adventure!
Or something like that.

How lovely it must be eating outside near those beautiful pine trees!

How many times did you have to remind Steven not to make mean faces? I bet he snuck a few in there! Too funny.

Gotta love a place called the Mellow Mushroom! Like wow, yes?

word: comero

I always wanted a 1969 Camaro, but all I could afford was a 1983 Comero.
